Troubleshooting Photos –Introducing Search By DisasterToo often when we're trying to track down a problem, we find ourselves stuck because while we know we've got a problem, we can't find the words that will connect us to a fix in a help file. When the problem is photos, we usually know what the problem looks like, so the easiest route to a solution is to find a picture that has a similar problem. Therefore, this page displays a collection of photos that are visibly wrong in some way. Some went wrong in the camera or computer, so these are screen images. Some are photos that went wrong in the printer, so these are scans of photo prints, but they're all visibly disasters. To troubleshoot your problem picture, match the problem – blurriness, ridiculously wrong color or whatever – against the pictures below, then click through to a solution. In some instances, several problem photos lead to one solutions or explanatory page. This is not an error; instead, the photos represent different ways that one failing may show up. If you already know what you're up against, you may find your answer in the sub-menu under Solutions... For more textbook-ish background info, look in About... There's more on getting solutions from this site in How The Site Works. Finally, if you're looking for a specific word or phrase, use the Google search at the bottom of the page. A final thought – many of the solutions you'll find on this site rely on remedial work performed on your computer. That's not to say that this should become your preferred method of working. Software can fix small problems, but nothing beats the satisfaction or the picture-quality that comes with learning how to get the shot right the first time in your camera.
